Leonor Greyl Review
Founded in 1968, Leonor Greyl combines over 35 years of hair care expertise with a passion for creating beautiful hair. Imported from France, Leonor Greyl is a stylist favorite and just recently became available in the US. This collection includes shampoos, conditioners, styling products, masks, oils and serums made from high quality natural ingredients designed to invigorate your scalp and hair. Known for the Huile de Palme hair treatment, fans include celebs Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lopez and Gwen Stefani.
The Huile de Palme ($47) is the grand prize winner among hair products I've tried out in the past. This is a peerless hair treatment that goes above and beyond that no other conditioning hair product can do, especially from my experience with hair products. It is formulated with botanical oils that facilitate detangling while deeply nourishing the hair, reviving luster, radiance and elasticity. It has a pleasant, but familiar smell that I can't really place my finger on. I'm thinking I've used an oil treatment ages and ages ago that had a similar smell. Whatever it is, it smells really good! It doesn't weigh down my hair in the least. It is really lightweight! Plus, it is a summer must have since it has superior protection against the sun, seawater and chlorinated pool water. The only qualms I have is that it comes in a glass bottle. I'll admit that it is bit pricey for a hair treatment, but it is well worth the coin considering on what it does for the hair.
You must apply a small amount (dime size) of this treatment before using any other kind of treatment or shampooing your hair to get the best results. Apply it evenly lengths and ends brush hair to ensure even and thorough distribution. Leave it in your hair for 10 minutes or all night if you want a deeply nourishing treatment, which is ideal for dry and damaged hair. One more tip - don't leave home without tucking this in your beach bag!
The Masque Orchidee ($57) is the next runner up. This hair masque has a blend of botanical oils that are deeply rich in pro-vitamins. I've tried out several hair masques, and this one ranks high in my beauty book since it is everything I want in a hair masque. It makes my hair look and feel great by adding shine and bounce. It also detangles and softens the hair, which makes it ideal for curly and / or frizzy hair. Blow drying your hair after this treatment is a breeze! The floral scent is intoxicating and heavenly. I wish that I had a fragrance that smelled this good, because I'd wear it everyday!
The Serum de Soie Sublimateur ($42) will effortlessly increase flexibility and manageability whether you use it on dry or damp hair. This serum acts as a detangler when used on damp hair, and it will smooth and condition your hair when it is dry. I'm not too crazy about the jasmine scent, but this serum does make my hair feel softer and silkier. This serum is a must have despite your hair type!
The Shampooing Crème Moelle de Bambou ($39) is rich in natural active ingredients that protect and nourish hair with wheat germ oil, carrot, silk proteins and bamboo marrow. You will immediately see results with your hair after one use, because it repairs hair fiber by restoring and rejuvenating it by adding softness, flexibility, shine and impeccable manageability. It is a must have for hair that is dry and damaged even though it is suitable for all hair types. This shampoo will luxuriously cleanse and hydrate your hair without stripping away natural oil. They recommend using the Huile de Palme ($47) before using this shampoo for superior results since it will detangle and nourish the hair.
